NICU provides preemie excellent care

Our daughter Amber Nicole was born at Metrohealth in January of 2008.  Born 13 weeks prematurely caused by preeclampsia, she only weighed 1 pound 13 ounces at birth.

The NICU staff at Metro, including Amber's physician, Dr. Marc Collin, was caring, compassionate and worked tirelessly to save our little girl.  After many life-threatening setbacks, she was released after 84 days in the NICU and came home in April 2008.

Today, Amber is nearly 18 months old and shows no signs of any effects of being born a preemie and is now nearly 22 lbs and a happy and thankfully healthy toddler.

Our family is forever indebted to those in the NICU that worked so diligently to save Amber.

You can read more of her story and see more photos of her at www.kelvie.com/amber.
