On February 19, 2008, my divorce had been final for just two weeks. My ex-husband came to my home and shot me point blank seven times. I was able to call 911 and was taken to EMH regional medical center, where I am an ER nurse. My co-workers worked on me for 20 minutes and had Metro Life Flight there before I arrived.
I was then flown to MetroHealth Medical Center where I received the greatest care. The trauma team worked on me and they did an amazing job. I was shot twice in the face, three times in the chest, once to my left arm and the other bullet skimmed the top of my head. That being said, you can hardly tell what happened to me. Metro's surgeons and other workers that cared for me will be in my heart forever! I would love to thank them all!
Sincerely,
Lynn Nolan-Knechtges
